Jen here.
I created this website as a place for me and a bunch of other freelance writer colleagues to be able to share information about our industry. Usually people like us post our material on various other websites in an effort to get visitors to our websites or to websites of companies that we write for. The problem with most of the types of sites we post on is that they are usually loaded with all kinds of crap and advertisements that make it more difficult for us to get our message to visitors. Plus vistors to those sites lose trust in them because of their huge volume of advertisements.
I created this website to provide a place for us to get our knowledge published without having these kinds of barriers. You will find that I hold the writers here to a higher quality standard than what you will find across most of the internet. That was another thing that really bothered me.
I was sick and tired of having a decent article that I had written, posted along side of a poorly written article with many ridiculous grammatical errors. I felt that this lowered the value of my own writing by grouping it along with these. You will find that the guest posts and guest articles that I allow to be posted here will be of a higher standard. They aren’t necessarily university research quality. However, they are most certainly above average compared to the typical article website out there.
Enough said about that.
If you are interested in authoring some material on this website, feel free to contact me. I do not charge any money to post on here. In order for me to approve you as a contributor though, you would first have to explain to me exactly how you intend to add value to the site. I also will not tolerate spam. If you are going to post an article or two here, I will expect you to post high quality unique content. I will also expect you to promote those articles in some way so that the search engines find them and so that you bring a few new visitors to this site.
You will notice that these articles all receive a link in their credits except for some of the ones that I may have posted myself. I only allow one link per article and it would have to be at the very end of the post in the credits. Look at some of the posts on here and you will see what I mean. The links are “DoFollow”. If you do not follow the rules, I will either remove the links to your site or else revoke your privilege to publish here.
My goal with the site is to actually create a useful resource for researching information related to babies and parenthood. I am using Wikipedia as my model although I am quite sure the authors here are not Wikipedia quality.
If you want to contact me for any reason, you may do so using this contact form. It may take a while for me to get back to you depending on how busy I am with other projects.
